“After working in healthcare for over 15 years it seemed we have all been patching problems and hoping they eventually go away. This drove me to a passion to focus on the problem’s root cause and reverse the trend. In my home I had a pipe that, unknown to me, was leaking for over 5 years, when we found the leak, the floor boards had become rotten, turning soft and black . Instead of just replacing the floor boards we first fixed the leak and then began work on the surrounding damage. It is time in healthcare to peel back the reasons Americans are more likely to have poorer health in older age despite spending more money. It is time to fix the leak; it is time to repair our health. ” -Christin Dorfling, FNP-C
